Berry Sharing

There are berries which are not being used and there are people wanting to pick them - we make them meet

We are making a web site platform which match garden owners ond perry pickers.
We want to utilize local growing berries to reduce import of berries, as well as food waste in the form of berries not being picked by their owners. A core part of the idea is to market the service/website with a "berry forecast" similar to a pollen or weather forecast, as we realized that local people lack knowledge about when the season really is. The project will stimulate the use of local resources, local knowledge and traditions - in order to reduce the environmental impact of food transport and packaging. The service of matching people with excess berries and people interested in picking and using them is based on a principle of the shared economy. The business model is based on income in the form of membership fees and sponsors by local companies. Core costs will be website design, development and maintenance.
