Bug Burger

Bug Burger is a chain of fast food restaurants selling high-protein insect and vegetable based food. The concept was born in 2014 when the resource demands and pollution from the global beef industry were conflicting with global population growth. An alternative protein source was sought to reach the restaurant mass market, that has now gone on to replace the old high street names such as McDonald’s and Burger King, now resigned to history.
The Bug Burger concept extends beyond the edible burger itself. Each burger is the product of a closed loop circular ecosystem housed in every Bug Burger restaurant. Everything is produced and disposed of on site - minimal deliveries and external waste collections are required. The Bug Burger business plan is available for franchise with careful consideration for native species of insects and plants specific to each new site.
