Random Acts of connection

Solving the tragedy of the commons by promoting connection and play in public places

Humans are causing a lot of curly, wicked environmental problems. We brainstormed a few of them related to food security to try to understand where they come from.

One such problem is the Tragedy of the Commons. When a pool of resources is shared by a community of people that engages and interacts with one another, they tend to use it in a respectful way.
When they aren’t connected, there is nothing to stop them from over-using these resources which leads to their destruction and eventually the collapse. An example of this is big corporations which aren’t actively participating and engaging in local communities at all but using the resources anyway.
